Our nursing team offers a variety of services:
Chronic conditions are those which in most cases cannot be cured, only controlled, and are often life-long and limiting in terms of quality of life.
At this surgery, we (nurses or doctors) are involved in the monitoring and management of the above conditions and will contact you in on a yearly basis for chronic conditions reviews, which will often be preceded by necessary blood tests.
The surgery is currently involved in providing free NHS Checks to our patients between the ages of 40 and 74.
Everyone with this age group, who has not already been diagnosed with heart disease, stroke, kidney disease or diabetes, will be invited (once every five years) to have a check to assess their risk to developing these conditions and will be given support and advice to help then reduce or manage that risk
For an appointment please contact the surgery.
We no longer offer a Stop Smoking service.
If you are keen to quit, ask at your local Pharmacy and they will be happy to help

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
We recommend you review the NHS Travel website before coming to an appointment, so you are aware of what vaccinations you might need.
Fit for Travel
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Please note, we cannot offer appointments less than 7 days before travel, so please book in well in advance of your trip away.
We CANNOT do emergency vaccinations. If you are within 2 weeks of travel or we are unable to fit you in, we suggest you visit Nomad Travel Clinic in Central Bristol or Silvermans Pharmacy down the road.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
Travel Health Questionnaire
To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out the online form . We will check your medical records and contact you with advice or an appointment.
If you are concerned about a place you plan to go to, we suggest you look at the Foreign Office website for travel advice.
Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:
NB- Passport photographs and forms can no longer be countersigned by GPs. For approved counter signatories, click here
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
